Gene Expression Regulation and Bacterial Pathogenicity Laboratory

Laboratory name: Bacterial Gene Expression and Pathogenicity Regulation Laboratory

Responsible researcher: José Freire da Silva Neto

Laboratory location: University of São Paulo (USP), Faculty of Medicine of Ribeirão Preto (FMRP), Department of Cellular and Molecular Biology and Pathogenic Bioagents. FMRP-USP Central Building, room 41. Avenida Bandeirantes, 3900, CEP:14049-900, Ribeirão Preto, SP, Brazil.

Line of research: The laboratory studies molecular genetics of bacteria using molecular biology, biochemistry and microbiology approaches. The team uses the environmental pathogen Chromobacterium violaceum as a study model. The main lines of research are: 1. Regulation of Gene Expression and Bacterial Pathogenicity; 2. Mechanisms of Metal Homeostasis and Nutritional Immunity; 3. Protein Secretion Systems of Bacteria.
